Sachin
Tendulkar looks a shadow of himself in the young Virat Kohli but Indian
batsman says that literally worships the iconic cricketer game and his
exploits would be nothing less than "mission impossible" for him.
Kohli is the fastest to score 1000 and 3000 ODI runs and was most prolific scorer in India this year with five centuries that have led many compare him to Tendulkar.
Tendulkar Kohli is considered a worthy rival his incredible record 100 international centuries. However, Kohli said there is no comparison between him and his idol.
"I feel really blessed when people start comparing me to Sachin, but I stay focused on my performance, and not in such comparisons. I literally adore him, so I do not see much in this comparison," said Kohli.
"No cricketer has been able to score a hundred centuries as Sachin. Would be a great achievement., I do not think at all about this, as it increases the pressure on you. I stay focused on my performance," he said during a program television.
On his election as vice-captain, Kohli said, was a pleasant surprise for him and dismissed suggestions that would eventually replace Mahendra Singh Dhoni as skipper. "No, I do not think so. As captain, he has done much for the Indian team. Learned a lot as vice-captain," he said.
The Delhi batsman did not agree with Sourav Ganguly, who said the selectors had taken an emotional decision Yuvraj Singh rushing in international cricket after illness.
Yuvraj, who has recovered from a rare germ cell cancer, has been included in the squad for the World Twenty20 India for next month in Sri Lanka.
"I do not think it's an emotional decision. If he says it is safe and fit, then you should be given a chance. Should be a perfect comeback for him," said Kohli.
"The first game after returning always makes you nervous. If you perform well in the World Cup will be a big boost for the Indian team. For us, the World Cup is an important tournament," he added.
Speaking of his aggressive attitude on the field, Kohli said it is part of their nature.
"I've had this habit since childhood. Never liked being out, if I'm out of zero or scored a ton. Anger me. Occasionally shout abuse, but, lately, I'm trying to control my aggression, so that my behavior does not go over the top.'ve broken too many bats in my childhood, "he said.
Kohli was also candid enough to admit that he was distracted after playing in the Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
"Yes, there was a little distracting. Had just come from the victory in the FIFA U-19. Were playing with foreigners (star) players, I do not support this (attention) as well.

"I was thrown off the team even, but my coach told me to concentrate on the game and got my attention again."
