India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is known for his passion for motorcycles, started his race team in July, which now competes in the Supersport World Championship FIM.
The championship is a support race to the Superbike World Championship, which will make its debut in India in March 2013.
The team, known as MSD RN Racing Team India, entered the championship race 17 races in 10 in Brno, Czech Republic. It is expected to compete full season in 2013.
The team has two riders in Florian Marino of France and Britain's Dan Linfoot.
Marino is a four-time winner of the Superstock 600 race, and was a full time last year Honda WSS. Linfoot had won two Superstock 600 race in 2008.
The team is based in Yeovil in the UK.
Team Principal, said Amit Sandill which aim to popularize and grow the game in Asia.
"We're seeing things from a long term perspective. Trying to grow the sport in Asia. The sport itself is in a very early stage in Asia so this is a first step," said Sandill in presenting the team in July.
"Try to reach the championship and make some sort of mark on the championship and then take the sport to India and then other Asian countries. We would also like to start a Racing Academy. Behind all this is the passion, which is presented as a bonus, "he said.
According to the team website, Dhoni is part of the management, while actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has been mentioned as a director.
Nandish Domlur, a heart surgeon by profession, is the CEO and Director Mangaging team.
