captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli have been shortlisted for
the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year award along with Lankan Kumar Sangakkara and Lasith Malinga.
Sangakkara has also been nominated for the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year and Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy ICC Cricketer of the Year.
Along with Sangakkara, South Africa duo Hashim Amla and Vernon Philander and Australia captain Michael Clarke have also been shortlisted for the top honor. In addition, the four cricketers are also shortlisted for the Test Cricketer of the Year at the ICC Awards ICC ninth.
The Twenty20 International (T20I) Performance of the year Sri Lanka Tillakaratne Dilshan preselected with Chris West Indies' Gayle, Richard Levi and fellow South African Dilshan, Ajantha Mendis on.
Meanwhile, in the ICC ODI Women's Cricketer of the Year short-list, ICC Cricketer of the Year for Women 2011, Stafanie Taylor, is shortlisted alongside fellow West Indian Anisa Mohammed and England pair Sarah Taylor and Greenway Lydia.
Both Taylors are also on the shortlist for ICC T20I Women Cricketer of the Year and was joined on that list by Alyssa Healy and Australia pair Lisa Sthalekar.
This year's ICC Awards includes 11 individual awards, including the Audience Choice Award and has the new ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year Women and Women T20I ICC Cricketer of the Year awards.
Long lists of nominations were made by a selection committee of five men led by former ICC West Indies captain and current chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee Clive Lloyd. The panel also includes former international players Marvan Atapattu Sri Lanka, England Clare Connor, Carl Hooper of the West Indies and Australia's Tom Moody.
Short lists were created after the individual awards the players were chosen by an academy of 32 highly credentialed cricket personalities from around the world. The academy includes a number of former players, respected members of the media and representatives of the elite groups of Emirates ICC Umpires and Referees ICC Match.
Pastor David ICC Umpire of the Year Trophy was voted by the 10 current Test captains and the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and is partly based on performance statistics of the referees.
There are six nominees this year, including five-time winner Simon Taufel, the three-time winner Aleem Dar, along with New Zealand Billy Bowden, Dharmasena Sri Lanka Kumar, Kettleborough of England and Australia's Richard Rodney Tucker.
The ICC Emerging Cricketer of Year nominees short-list features Doug Bracewell of New Zealand, Sri Lanka Dinesh Chandimal, West Indies and Australia Sunil Narine Pattinson, James.
To qualify for the award a player must be under 26 years of age at the beginning of the observation period and have played fewer than five Tests and / or 10 ODIs T20Is and / or five at the start of the voting period.
The ICC Associate and Affiliate Cricketer of the Year serves to recognize and reward the efforts in all international matches of the outstanding cricketers from the teams outside the ICC Full Members.
