Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to run first-class cricket through franchises.
"Franchise dependent first-class cricket is to be launched on Oct 14. We may not be able to get franchise for each of the eight local teams, then again we are eager to launch it this season," BCB president AHM Mustafa Kamal said on Tuesday.
"The first and the final match of the league will be day-night in Dhaka. We already have taken permission from the ICC," he added.
A total of nine players will be appointed as coordinators for the local teams, according to Kamal.
"We have not taken any decision about the number of foreign players. We will follow the single league method. Two top teams will fight in the final. We have taken this decision to make first-class cricket more competitive.
