Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have relaxed the conditions on media broadcasting rights and extended the deadline for submitting tenders in an emergency meeting on Tuesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
"Anyone having five years of experience in any of the three parts of the right (broadcast, production and marketing) is eligible to submit a tender. Tenders can be dropped till September 12," BCB president AHM Mustafa Kamal said.
Kamal hopes to get the contract within the middle of September. He said, "We advertised for tenders under tighter conditions before and as the response was not satisfactory, we have extended the deadline."
"This time the security amount will be $2.5 million. The amount of the first year will have to be delivered within seven days of sending contract letter otherwise the contract will be cancelled. We will not leave any part payable this time," Kamal added.
"There is no sign of danger except serious turnover. The fields of casual risks have also been taken under insurance."
When asked about the expectations from the four-year broadcast rights, Kamal said, "Definitely our expectations went up. Our expectations are high despite the economic slowdown around the world."
Earlier, BCB had a six-year contract with Nimbus worth $56 million.
