Pakistan Cricket Board have announced 16 member squad for the upcoming one day international series against Australia. Experienced players like top order batsman Younis Khan and bowler Umar Gul has not been included in the squad. They are rested while wicket keeper batsman Kamran Akmal is back in the squad once again.
Although Younis Khan and Umar Gul are not in the best of their form. Both passed a horrible last series against Srilanka. Younis Khan scored only 10 runs in his 3 innings, while Umar Gul picked 4 wickets in the 5 match One day international series against Srilanka in last June.
Chief selector Iqbal Qashem said, '' we will be playing couple of tough tournaments with in next few months, so we have given them (Younis and Gul) rest during the upcoming series. It is because we will believe it will keep them fresh and will also be in their best during the upcoming tounaments ''.
Wicketbatsman Kamran Akmal who is going to make come back in the national team has not played any international match since the subcontinent world cup. Pakistan will play 3 One day internationals against Australiain Sharjah and Abudabhi. First match is on 28th of August.
