The 41-year-old stumper, who
has toured the Caribbean three times as a player, has one of the fondest

“The CPL will feature some of the world’s best
cricketers and I can’t wait to test my skills and play in what is going to be a
dynamic and exciting competition,” Gilchrist told the CPL website.
Some
of the popular West Indian cricketers who have also confirmed their
participation are Darren Sammy, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Kieron
Pollard and Marlon Samuels.
As many as 90 players will be contracted to
play in the CPL. Each of the six franchise teams -- Antigua & Barbuda,
Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago -- will all have
one local and one international icon or 'franchise player' each.
