Pakistan offspinner Saeed Ajmal has become the most successful bowler in Twenty20 International cricket after he took two wickets against Australia in Dubai on Monday night.
Ajmal went past his compatriot Shahid Afridi to top the list with 60 scalps from 43 matches. Afridi was the leader of the pack with 58. Interestingly, six spinners are part of the top 10.
With Afridi missing the game due to injury, Umar Gul has also gone past him and taken the second spot.
The top three slots are occupied by Pakistan bowlers. No Indian is part of the top-30. Irfan Pathan is placed 37th with 20 wickets from 18 games.
Ajmal has so far bowled 154 overs in 41 innings for his bag of 60. His best bowling is 4/19. He has conceded 929 runs and bowled only one maiden. His economy rate is 6.03 and average of 15.48. His strike rate is 15.4.
