Kevin Pietersen to be TV presenter for T20 World Cup 2012

Kevin Pietersen will be in World Twenty20 in September not as a player but as part of the team of ESPN STAR Sports television presenter. The news comes shortly after it was confirmed that Pietersen would not play the T20 World Cup in England after his dispute with the ECB and teammates - whose actions now could comment from the outside.

* ESS, which have the broadcast rights for ICC tournaments, said Friday that Pietersen - who was named player of the tournament when England won in 2010 - would be in its' presentation and analysis of the team "during the tournament marquee. The players have made comments about series batches who had to miss due to injury, but this might be the first time a player fails in such controversial circumstances is at the microphone.

After his spectacular century against South Africa at Leeds, in a series which resulted in England losing their number 1 ranked Test, Pietersen had spoken at a press conference about how he would "go ahead but there are obstacles that must be work ... and the points I am trying to solve in  locker room. Topics included his desire to play in the IPL complete text messages, sent to the South African players during the series - supposedly the England captain Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower - and a parody Twitter account that he suspected his starting companions.

He had since apologized and posted a video in which he pledged to international cricket, but as the matter became more complicated, was left out of the squad for the final Test South Africa, and was not among the 15 England players named in T20 World on August 21.

Apart from the analysis, the release said Pietersen ESS will also play an important role in the dissemination and promotion of the release of the World T20.
