The ICC have announced the appointments of Umpires and Match Officials
for the Men`s and Women`s finals of the ICC World Twenty 20 Sri Lanka to
be held tomorrow 7th October 2012 at the R.Premadasa Stadium in
Colombo.
Sunday 7 Oct (women’s final) – England Women v Australia Women, Colombo – Billy Bowden and Marais Erasmus (on-field umpires), Tony Hill (third umpire), Nigel Llong (fourth umpire), Graeme La Brooy (match referee).
Sunday 7 Oct (men’s final) – Sri Lanka v West Indies, Colombo – Simon Taufel and Aleem Dar (on-field umpires), Rod Tucker (third umpire), Ian Gould (fourth umpire), Jeff Crowe (match referee)
It should also be noted that this match will be the last international assignment of Simon Toufel who will be retiring from Umpiring after a very successful and noteworthy career to take up a role at the International Cricket Council. Simon who has stood as on-field umpire in 281 international matches which includes 74 test matches, 174 ODI`s and 33 T20I matches and has been the TV Umpire in 67 international matches. Tomorrow`s final match between Sri Lanka and West Indies will be his 34th T20I match and his 349th International Umpiring assignment.
