The ICC World Twenty20 2012 have been formally accepted trophies at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, Sri Lanka after arriving from Dubai.
The trophies were handed over to the host country of the end of their world tour and the men's and women's trophies were received by Ajit Jayasakera, the Sri Lanka Cricket Chief Executive Officer, and the ICC World Twenty20 2012 tournament director Upekha Nell.
Later in the day, the trophies were displayed alongside elephants, dancers and drummers in style "Perahera 'on the streets of Colombo to Independence Square, where they were officially welcomed by Sri Lanka Sports Minister Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Sri Upali Dharmadasa Lanka Cricket President of ICC chief executive, David Richardson.
The tournament will begin on September 18.
