Farhad Reza in for World T20

Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced its fifteen-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2012. Farhad Reza, who has played only 9 T20Is is selected in the squad in place of Nazmul Hussain. This is the only change in the settled squad of Bangladesh. Reza also replaced Nazmul Hossain in the team which will be touring Trinidad and Tobago for a four-nation tournament. But they will play under the name "Bangladesh Cricket Board XI" instead of Bangladesh. Perhaps, the major reason for Nazmul's exclusion was that he went wicket less on Bangladesh's tour of Europe.

Abul Hasan, who also had an off tour, was selected due to his pace, which will benefit him in Sri Lankan conditions. It is possible that Farhad Reza is selected as a back-up for Ziaur Rehman as the team management may not pick more than two bowlers in Sri Lankan conditions. Experienced Mohammad Ashraful has also been included.

The side will be led by Mushfiqur Rahim, as usual. It will have a powerful opener in the shape of Tamim Iqbal, who will be supported by Junaid Siddique and Jahurul Islam. The middle order looks very solid as it has the experience of Ashraful and the aggressiveness of Shakib, Musfiqur and the talented Nasir. Some lower order cameos are also expected from Bangladesh as it has Mahmudullah and Masrafe to provide an ideal finish to their innings. The bowling attack is pretty strong. It has the experienced Masrafe and Shafiul leading the attack, supported by Abul Hasan. The spin department is also very strong as it has Razzak, Shakib, Sunny and Mahmudullah. So overall, it's a very decent combination for World T20.

Squad: Mushfiqur Rahim (capt), Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal, Mohammad Ashraful, Junaid Siddique, Jahurul Islam, Shakib Al Hasan, Nasir Hossain, Ziaur Rahman, Elias Sunny, Abdur Razzak, Mashrafe Mortaza, Shafiul Islam, Farhad Reza, Abul Hasan.
