IND beat NZ by an innings and 115 runs in 1st Test

Having raised visions of a stirring comeback, New Zealand imploded for the second time in two days to subside a shameful and humiliating innings-115 run in the first Test against India.
Through Brendon McCullum, playing out of character with emphasis on the occupation of the line and not extravagant career decisions, and Kane Williamson, the impressive right off the bat that once again showed great courage and implementation, New Zealand takes a brave fist to thwart India's charge in the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
Once the second-wicket partnership was completed by Steve Davis finger of fate, the fight was prematurely outside New Zealand. 41 for a game when the fourth day began two hours late at 1100 hours due to heavy rain during the night and early morning, New Zealand turned for 164 after being forced to follow on, 279 behind in the first count.
Bowlers India had appeared a little listless and bereft of ideas when little McCullum and Williamson were together. That was more to do with the fact that the two batsmen managed the spin duo of R Ashwin, who completed his first ten wicket match haul and Pragyan Ojha calmly as the fact that the pitch together either because they had been under cover for a long time and because the effect of overriding any purchase roller spinners could have gotten.
The 90-minute session for lunch was all about McCullum and Williamson, but once Umesh Yadav, unaided by Davis, snipped that stand in the third in the second half, India were all in New Zealand as a bad rash.
As in the first innings, Ashwin (6 of 54) times in a subsequent proposition giant lunch with his great control, and their willingness to take their variations to the game against the lowest order. His second six-wicket haul gave inputs match figures of 12 for 85, fully deserved, although New Zealand did not exactly cover himself with glory.
Apart from Ashwin and Ojha acuity of relentless probing, the most emphasized on Saturday was excellent India near the catch. Virender Sehwag was the star with two brilliant catches at slip, which in full body dive right to get rid of James Franklin easily capture game while Virat Kohli was not far behind.
Rarely, however, will exit the win some India as easily again. New Zealand had promised a fight, and even McCullum and Williamson were around, it seemed as if the conversation was not an empty boast. Dismissal McCullum, leg before Umesh Yadav awarded upside surpassed the ball in his pads, he sent them to a inexorable tailspin, providing unexplained Ross Taylor of arms to a sharp Ashwin offbreak without putting a second line of defense indicative of the confusion and uncertainty in the minds of New Zealand.
Perhaps the New Zealand batsmen sitting in the pavilion had not paid much mind when McCullum, putting mind over matter, and Williamson were batting. The fumbles - and there were not many - was saved with carefree ease while good stayed away, and they both played the ball late, just below the eyes and soft hands. After an extended season spin with both ends, Mahendra Singh Dhoni turned to Zaheer Khan, but Zaheer and rolled, success did not come.
Yadav was not until the penultimate over before lunch - the 24th of the day - and slammed his delivery 13, ending the 72-run stand between McCullum and Williamson, though a bit by chance. The wheels then fell off in the last eight wickets falling for just 66 in no time.
Taylor's dismissal was followed by a brief period of resistance that involves Williamson and Daniel Flynn. It was a phase when Ojha was out of the line of fire - did not bowl for almost two hours - but when Dhoni brought his left arm spinner back Ojha immediately responded with an absolute beauty.
He began to drift in one direction Williamson, hitherto in overall command, and then separate the batter to make the connection and supply Sehwag to slip a simple catch. It was a special delivery, but had to be one of evicting Williamson, defensive given the authority with which defied India for nearly three hours.
From there, the procession continued unabated. Ashwin spun a web of deceit magical about offbreaks lower order, the doosra and carrom ball all thrown in. Like in the first innings, Chris Martin was his sixth victim and end to mark the victory and send over 20,000 fans into delirium. Until now 1-0, with the second test beginning in Bangalore on August 31.
